Green Party Deputy Leader visits Heywood & Middleton
In the final weekend of campaigning before the Heywood & Middleton by-election, the Green Party's campaign received a boost with a visit from Deputy Leader Shahrar Ali.
Abi Jackson, Green Party candidate for Heywood and Middleton said: “Greens will make more decent jobs available. We will deliver affordable housing. We will protect public services including the NHS, and not deliver them to big business who simply want to make a profit. We will endeavour to protect the vulnerable. Justice for the victims of historic abuse can only come through ensuring that such abuses never happen again.
Having lived all my life in the constituency I would be proud to represent the people of Heywood & Middleton. People feel let down by politicians. People want to do things differently. The Green Party stands for the real change we need. Real change for today and tomorrow. Real change that will benefit you and your community.”
Dr Shahrar Ali, Deputy Leader of the Green Party, said: “I am proud to be campaigning alongside Abi and her team in the final few days of the campaign. Greens represent a positive vision for Heywood and Middleton. Housing for all and an end to the bedroom tax. Jobs for all and an end to zero-hours contracts. Public services for all, our hospitals, our libraries, our local buses and walkways. Vote green for politics with a conscience, for politics on a mission, politics for the common good.”
